Race Entries:
Please email (preferred),fax
or mail your team's entries to Stephen
Bell at Kents Hill (sbell@kentshill.org) by Friday, February 11.
- Team size is 3-5 boys,
3-5 girls. Be sure to indicate your racers in desired seed order for all 4
events (boys SL,boys GS,girls SL, girls GS)
- Please list all coaches
attending (2 coaches per team)
- Entry fee is $35 per
athlete. Make check payable to Kents Hill School and mail in advance
or bring to registration on the morning of the race.
General Information:
- Race registration will
take place beginning at 7:30am in the main race building at the base of the
main slope (you will see the slalom already set for the race). There will
be one set of bibs for the race. The Slalom will run in the morning and run
in bib order. For the GS race in the afternoon, you will have to re-pass out
the bibs among your athletes, so pay attention to afternoon start list.
- Lift tickets must be
worn at all times and will be picked up at registration.
- Coaches meeting at 8:00am
at timing building (same as registration)
- The Slalom race will
begin at 9:30am and is clearly visible from main base lodge. The GS will be
held on the East Slope which is the trail to the left of the lift. You can
get to the East Slope via triple chair at the end of Slalom course and unload
lift at mid-station and ski to your left.
- I decided not to run
the SL and GS simultaneously. The mountain believes that the morning race
should be done by noon(or earlier). The GS race should be done before 3pm
- Please bring a release
form for all of your athletes (see attachment to email)
- Awards will be 30min
(3:15 target time) after completion of GS and held at the East Base Lodge.
To get to the East Base Lodge you will have to drive out of main parking lot
and turn right (a left turn would take you home). It is a very short drive
and a nice quiet place to have the awards.
- Some reminders of ISSCA
rules and procedures (refer to published rules for complete list):
Running order within each seed is drawn at random, and reversed within each
seed for the second run.
- Helmets are required
for GS.
- Lost ski=DNF
- Racers who miss their
start will be disqualified.
- Team scoring is top
3 of the 5 racers (combined times of two runs of each race)
- In case of a tie, the
total time for the 3 best scoring finishers will be used.
- Training courses for
Slalom can be set on the east slope just beyond the Headwall, however if you
wish to set a trainer please contact me before so I can arrange an 8am lift
ride.
